What’s Included In A Senior Photography Session

Intro

If you’ve started looking into senior photos, you’ve probably noticed that not all sessions are explained the same way. Some photographers list a price and a time slot and leave the rest unclear. So let’s break it down. Here is what is actually included in a senior photography session with me. And, why each part matters.

Pre-Session Planning (Before We Ever Pick Up A Camera)

A senior session doesn’t start on the day of a shoot. It starts with preparation. Before your session, I send you a senior style guide to help you plan outfit ideas and changes. We discuss locations options and the overall vibe you want. Whether it’s classic, editorial, relaxed or bold. This planning is what keeps sessions from feeling rushed or awkward and helps seniors walk in feeling confident instead of unsure.

Guided Posing And Direction (No Guessing Required)

One of the biggest worries seniors have is that they feel like they don’t know how to pose. That is completely normal. It definitely is not something you’re expected to know. During your session, I guide you through natural movement instead of stiff poses. I explain how to stand, walk, sit, lean, and shift weight to create “natural” poses. I will instruct you on what to do with your hands. All of this will combine to give you expressions that feel real and not forced. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s comfort. Confidence photographs better than anything else!

Time Built For Confidence

Every session type is designed with realistic time in mind. That means time to warmup in front of the camera. Space to relax and be yourself. Flexibility for outfit changes or movement. The best images usually happen after seniors stop thinking about the camera, and that’s intentional.

Multiple Looks And Variety (Depending On Session Type)

Depending on the session you choose, your experience may include outfit changes, location variety, and cap & gown photos. This variety allows your final gallery to feel cohesive but not repetitive. And, it gives you images that work for announcements, frames, albums, and sharing.

Professional Editing That Still Looks Like You

Editing should ENHANCE, not change how you look. Your final images are clean, timeless, true to skin tone, and consistent with my overall style. No heavy filters or editing. No trendy edits that won’t age well.

A Final Gallery That Tells A Story

Your Gallery isn’t, or shouldn’t be, just a collection of images. It’s a visual story of who you are during this season of life. From confident portraits to quieter moments, the goal is to capture personality, growth, and authentic emotion. Because this version of you matters!

Final Thoughts

A senior photo session is more than showing up and smiling. It’s planning, guidance, time, and intention. When those pieces come together, the result is photos that feel natural, confident, and meaningful. Both now and years from now!
